Angry Lurker Honest Movie Review 73: Colombiana 2011 (3 Stars).

A young woman grows up to be a stone cold assassin after witnessing her parents murder as a child in Bogota. She trains and works for her uncle as a hitman by day, but her personal time is spent engaging in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to her ultimate target, the monster responsible for her parents death!

The movie starts with Cataleya's (Zoe Saldana, not bad at all) parents who are part of a drug cartel trying to retire from said cartel but this news is not taken well by cartel boss and Cataleya (10 at this stage) is soon running for her life and through some dubious shenanigans ends up with her criminal uncle in America.

Fast forward to adult life.....

This is a movie about revenge and it's not a bad one but at times it's a little far fetched, there is good inventive action, some co-stars who you will recognise (maybe) and help the story along but this is about her quest for revenge and not even a love life will get in the way but suspend a little disbelief and you have a popcorn movie for a Saturday night with a loved one or the missus!

Screenplay was written by Luc Besson!

15mm Fire and Fury ACW Game, Battle of Salutesville 1862.....

.......or the game of 6 bloggers!

Last Sunday and the day after Salute the Rejects put on a 15mm ACW game using Fire and Fury rules (otherwise known to me as Fire and Furious Anger rules) for 3 other bloggers, the battle was a hypothetical one set in Salutesville 1862 (Posties idea and game). So there were 7 players (the seventh was next door neighbour Jack who had gamed with us before and Postie umpiring) and a massive game with a lot of figures and divisions on the table and reinforcements arriving on lucky dice rolling!

I was in and out at the beginning of the game and near lunch while I was keeping an eye on lunch! There are several posts of the game and can be seen on other blogs!

So some eye candy and brief explanations mostly with what went on with my side and 5 brigades of McClaws 3rd division South Carolina boys!

The Union boys, Ray, Curt and Seb....

The Confederates, BigLee, Tamsin, Jack and the guy behind the camera.....

South Carolina's finest.......

Deployed for battle, you had to roll to see how far they deployed on......

Union forces await......

Robert E.Lee makes an appearance......

BigLee advancing on my flank.....

Tamsin fighting in the centre.......

Lunch........

Trying to knock the Union off a hill, this did not go well.......

Disordered and out of ammo markers, we used a lot of these.....

More Union forces advance.....

Union cavalry reinforcements arriving...too late though but bastards if they dismount in a good position....

Ray gets a little too close.....

The ongoing battle......

2 Confederate brigades heading back to reorganise.....

Tamsin in the centre....

Union artillery, far better than Confederate made it's point all day....

Hood's Texas boys doing some wood clearing......

BigLee trying to make a breakthrough.....

This is now way to be attacked.....

The last action of the game, hitting  them in the flank....

Contractual Postie shot, I think I went a bit David Bailey....

A victory for the Confederacy 19-13 when the points were added up, the game went back and forward all day with the dice allowing no one to get the upper hand but eventually we got a few good dice rolls and the Union started to collapse, a great game, great gamers and a great day!

Salute 2012, Fieldworks Models and 80 pence!

The weekend nearly killed me, between the show, the Sunday gaming and cooking and all the smiling I was fecked! The show was great, met loads of fellow bloggers, stayed until the end (first ever time and never again!) and I admit people coming up to you and staring for a second or two and then going "Are you the Angry Lurker? will never get old or tiring! (some people did the stare but then walked off but you can't blame them after seeing the picture below!)
Proof that Ray actually bought lunch, well dinner anyway!

I stuck to the list (no Pamela Anderson again!) but I had a certain amount of money in my right hand pocket and that was that (I'm not telling!) and I ended up with 80p ($0.50) left because of the lovely Kath and John Shuker at Fieldworks whose 15mm modern distressed  buildings were beautiful and painted and they were generous with the discounts, really lovely stuff and Franonia is taking shape because of them, Timecast were very generous with a few freebies but I still screwed up my order (doh!)

The meeting with fellow bloggers went well with a surprising amount turning up, meeting others around the show and some who forgot or got too drunk!

Here's a brief list that I can remember, good bloggers and go visit them!

Now if I've forgotten anybody or got their name worng I'm sorry and mortified, I took pictures but not a lot and even those were dodgy for all sorts of reasons but some of my favourites and clearest are shown below.....
